The Kiss – Sabina Tomkins Poetry

kissingI don’t know her name

The Kiss by Sabina Tomkins

how many times you’ve made her cry
what her laugh feels like
escaping moistness on your skin

I know you love her
not what love is
does it mean don’t leave?

I know you love her
I could taste it in the gentleness

porcelieneswith which you landed your
responses to my porcelain philosophy

I know you love her
but you kissed me

indefinite electron

a kiss with no death no identity
just a footprint in the sand waiting for the waves
planting the scarlet flag to say
that there is more to give than selves,
more to share than love
